Capri and Pompeii Photoshoots by travel photographer Andrew Prod.
After our first successful trip to Fuerteventura we longed for more sunshine and thought south Italy would be the perfect destination. Our plan was to head to Pompeii’s ruins as we knew there would be plenty of shooting opportunities. I have also always wanted to visit Pompeii.
Our first stop was the Capri island where we ended up doing a few beach photoshoots and a lot of hiking. I visited Capri when I first started my travels 4 years ago but I never got a chance to stay on the Island, which turned out to be a totally different experience. The island was absolutely beautiful, all the locals were so friendly and the views from the top of the island were breathtaking.
We then headed to Pompeii for another 2 nights, where we spent most of the day at the ruins of the ancient city. Even though the cloudy forecast turned into rain, which prevented us from shooting outside, eventually we managed to get a fantastic view of the ruins in the afternoon. During the rain we stumbled upon this cool building and we managed to get some dramatic and creative shots there.
I really wanted to capture the everlasting atmosphere of Pompeii and I am very pleased with how the images turned out. Big thanks to Irina and Lilly for making this trip happen 🙂
